About
Alexander Webb is a freelance writer, author, and PhD student who has written about intellectual property and mortality risk for the New York Times, in addition to work for National Geographic, Business Insider, and the Financial Times Press. He has written about music promotion and cryptocurrency security for Wired Magazine. He lived in China for five years and is one of the few westerners who has visited North Korea. His graduate work currently looks at cryptocurrencies and behavioral economics.
Alexander Webb is the author of Marijuana Medicine, a National Geographic special edition issue on medical cannabis, released in late 2019. Alex wrote major sections of National Geographic’s The Civil War: A Traveler’s Guide. His writing also appeared in National Geographic’s Atlas of The Civil War special issue magazine.
Alexander Webb is the author of the Zika Prevention Handbook, published by Skyhorse in October 2016. He is the co-author of Shock Markets, published by the Financial Times Press. A Chinese edition of Shock Markets was released in autumn 2015.

Education:
Alexander Webb graduated with a degree in International Business from the University of Hong Kong and he is currently pursuing a PhD from the University of Wollongong in Australia.
